MUSEC VISIT TO THE ELECTORAL COMMISSION LIMITED VOTERS REGISTRATION CENTER

The Electoral Commission of Ghana is undertaking a limited voters’ registration exercise. The exercise is ongoing at all district offices of the Electoral Commission for all eligible Ghanaians. The Electoral Commission started the limited voters’ registration exercise on Tuesday, 12th September, 2023 in line with article 45 of the 1992 constitution and is expected to end on 2nd October, 2023.

Some Municipal Security Committee (MUSEC) members paid a working visit to the registration center to monitor the ongoing exercise and ascertain the progress made so far.  In attendance were Hon. Nicholas K. Baako (Municipal Chief Executive), C/Supt. Cephas Arthur (the District Police Commander),                                     ACI Kwabena Addai Koduah (C.O. of Ghana Immigration Service Training School), ADOI William Koranteng (Fire Officer), and Ms. Gifty Hammond, (Assistant Director). 

At the Electoral Commission registration center, Mr. Kofi Tsibu the registration Officer reported that, the registration exercise has been peaceful with the support of the Police. He further stated that, people have comported themselves and adhered to instructions and procedures. The various party agents have also comported themselves very well and no misunderstanding has occurred so far. 

He reported that, a total number of one thousand, nine hundred and                               twenty - seven (1,927) people have so far been registered. This figure comprises of eight hundred and eighty - seven (887) men and one thousand and forty (1,040) women.

On the whole, the limited voters’ registration exercise is going on smoothly despite some minor challenges.
