FOLLOW UP ON RESOLVED CHILDCARE CASES

Children are a gift from God and therefore need to be protected in all spheres of life. In the offices of the Department of Social Welfare and Community development, cases concerning Neglect and Maintenance of children, Custody and Access, Paternity, Truancy, Family reconciliation and some general cases related to Family Welfare and treated there.

Consequently follow ups are done on the cases treated to check on compliance on conditions given.

Key areas which are of great importance to the Department include the following;

  1. School attendance of children involved
  2. Healthcare provision
  3. Social and economic wellbeing of family
  4. Payment of maintenance fees
  5. Granting of Access

During the third quarter of 2022, the Department did follow ups on fifteen cases in five communities and the type of cases included;

Neglect of pregnancy, Child maintenance, Custody and Access.

The community visited included;Foso Odumase, Foso Bantama, Assin juaso, Paleem and Assin Nyankumasi

The outcome result of the outreach was encouraging.
