CONFIRMATION OF THE MUNICIPAL CHIEF EXECUTIVE ON MONDAY AT THE CENTENARY HALL, ASSIN FOSO.

His   Excellency,    the  President  of the  Republic  of  Ghana.    John  Dramani  Mahama,    pursuant   to article   243( I)   of Ghana's   1992  constitution  and  section    20( I)  of the  Local Governance    Act 2016 (936)    nominated      Mr.  Gariba    Adam   as  the  Municipal      Chief   Executive   of  the  Assin    Foso Municipal   Assembly  pending approval by the General  Assembly.

A special   meeting  was  organized    by the Assin  Foso Municipal   Assembly    on  Monday.   June   2, 2025 at the  Centenary  Hall,   Assin Foso for the confirmation.

The occasion    was graced by the Hon.   Central Regional    Minister.     the Hon.   Member   of Parliament for  Assin    Central,    the  Central    Regional     Chairman    of  the  ruling    NOC Party,   former  MCEs. Nananom,    Political    Party Executives.   staff of the Ass in  Foso Municipal    Assembly,   the media and other  sympathizers.     The   election    was conducted     by the Officers    from  the  Municipal      Electoral Commission     and   the  entire  occasion    was  presided    over  by the  Hon.    Presiding  Member.  The voting  was  conducted    through  secret   balloting.     The   Municipal    Electoral    Commission      ensured transparency    and  fairness    in  the voting    process.   The nominee    needed   at least two  thirds   of the total votes  of the  Hon.  Assembly    Members  present and voting.

THE OUTCOME   OF THE  ELECTION

Twenty-two   (22) Hon.  Assembly   Members were present to cast  their  vote on  the  nominee.

After  the   election,   all  the   twenty-two      (22)  Hon.   Assembly   Members  voted  YES  representing

I 00% of the total   votes  cast.

DECLARATION  AND SWEARING  IN

After the election,    the  Returning    Officer   declared  the  President's     nominee.  Mr. Gariba   Adams the MCE Elect. The  Central    Regional    Minister.    Hon  Eduarnoah    Ekow Panyin   Okyere  then  swore the Hon   MCE Elect   into office.

ACCEPTANCE  SPEECH

The   Hon.   Municipal    Chief   Executive   expressed    his   utmost     gratitude   to  H.  E.  John    Drarnani Mahama  for his   nomination.     He  also   thanked    Nananom.     the NOC  Party,  the   Hon.   Assembly Members   and everyone  for their massive  support   and prayers.   He indicated    that he would   ensure the implementation      of the  President's     Resetting    Agenda and also   champion    development    in the municipality. He welcomed   everyone  on board  to help make his  tenure  as the Municipal    Chief Executive a success.

SECURITY

To ensure peace and calm  at the occasion,   police officers were deployed  from the Central  North Regional    Police  Command  and  the Assin  Foso  District  Police  Command  to provide   security. Members of the Municipal   Security  Council were also  present to ensure a smooth process devoid of any form of chaos. The atmosphere  throughout  the occasion  was generally  calm  and peaceful. No incident  of chaos or misconduct  was recorded.

CONCLUSION

Per the outcome of the election, the President's nominee recorded more than two thirds majority of votes and  was therefore confirmed  as the Municipal  Chief Executive.
