The Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) in collaboration with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) implemented the Rice Value Chain Improvement Project in five (5) districts in the Central Region from 2019 -2024. As part of the project implementation, a rice milling factory has been constructed at Assin Akropong in the Assin Fosu Municipal of the Central Region.

Messrs Nuanhyi Ghana Limited has been awarded a contract by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture for the management of the Rice Processing Facility at Assin Akropong in the Assin Fosu Municipal of the Central Region.  On the 8^th of January, 2025, a three member delegation from Messrs Nuanhyi Ghana Limited, a subsidiary of Kantanka Group of Companies paid a courtesy call to the Assin Fosu Municipal Assembly and the Department of Agriculture to officially introduce itself. The team also paid a visit to the Rice Processing Facility for a brief assessment of the facility. The Municipal Coordinating Director Mr. Saaka Ibrahim pledged to the team leader Mr. Shadrack Nuamah of the Assembly’s unflinching support for the growth and proper function of the facility.
