Central AGRA Rice was launched in a colourful ceremony on July 3, 2024, at Assin Akropong in the Assin Foso Municipality
In attendance were several high-level dignitaries, including the Hon. Central Regional Minister, Hon Justina Marigold Assan, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture (Crops), Hon Yaw Frimpong Manso,the Ambassador of South Korea to Ghana H.E. Park Kyongsig and the KOICA Ghana Country Director. Mr. Donghyun Lee.
The commissioning of the Rice Processing Factory at Assin Akropong and the launch of Central AGRA Rice brand is a result of extensive collaboration between the Korean Government and the Central Regional Coordinating Council, which has enhanced the rice production value chain in the region and aligns with the government's policies of One District One Factory and Planting for Food and Jobs.
The speakers at the event highlighted the quality and tastiness of the rice and expressed hope that patronage by rice consumers in the region and beyond will lead to the success of the Central AGRA Rice brand.
