  • Hon. HON. NICHOLAS KOFI BAAKO

Hon. Nicholas Kofi, Baako was born on Friday, 12th April, 1968 in Assin Foso the capital town and business district of the Assin Foso Municipal Assembly. He began his Education at Fosco Demonstration School, and completed in the year 1981.

After successfully completing his basic Education, he gained admission to ST. Augustine College, Cape Coast, Ghana where he had his G. C. E ‘O’ and ‘A’ Level, after completing his G. C. E ‘O’ and ‘A’ Level he proceeded to the Premier University, Legon to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, graduating in the year 1992 with a BA (Hons) Sociology.
 
After graduating from the University in 1992 , he had the opportunity to do his mandatory National Service with the university as an assistant to the dean of students in 1993. He then gainfully got employed with Ghana Education service as a Tutor and was placed at Obiri Yeboah Secondary School, Assin Foso. He worked there as a tutor from the year 1993 – 2017. He is happily married to his wife and they have 3 beautiful children.

During his tutoring period with Obiri Yeboah Secondary School, he gained admission to the university of cape coast to pursue a post graduate certificate program in education. He finished the certificate program in the year 2014.  

He was voted for and became the Municipal Chief Executive of the Assin Foso Municipal Assembly from the year 2017 and he is still at post till date because of his contributions towards the development of the municipality. He has represented the central government in the best possible way to ensure the agenda of the government reaches his people. 

His contribution to the development and welfare of the municipality has led to Hon. Nicholas Kofi Baako receiving so many awards in the municipal. The awards include:

o 2023- Assinman Nursing and Midwifery Training College (For commitment in establishing the college) 

o 2023- Commandant of Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (Support to the military in fighting illegal mining activities) 

o 2023- Methodist Church Foso Dioceses (Distinguish service award) 

o 2023- Akropong Youth Association (Support and contribution towards the development of Assin Akropong)

o 2023- ICARE MOTIVE (Unconditional contribution towards the development of the municipality)

o 2018- OYESS 9School Growth)
